Winter Ambassador Training
This night is for our ambassador team and invite only. We will kick off the season getting to know one another and what makes Gore Range Gravity Alliance so special. We’ll talk about our mission and our values and why they’re important, as well as our vision for the future of GRGA. Finally, we’ll make sure all of our ambassadors understand our processes for uphill meetups, how we operate as a team, and we’ll cover safety protocols. We’ll cover the commitment required of our ambassadors and what GRGA can offer in return.
If you want to support our ambassador program, please consider making a donation or reach out to amanda@gorerangegravityalliance.com for other ideas. In-kind donations are also great whether that is gifts to our ambassadors or supporting our ambassador dinner with dining space/budget.
Women's Level 1 Avalanche Course with Colorado Adventure Guides
The Gore Range Gravity Alliance is teaming up with Colorado Adventure Guides to offer a women's AIARE 1 course open to women and non-binary folks. The first day will be in CAG's classroom in Silverthorne, and days 2 and 3 will be on snow with one day likely on Vail Pass or near Vail.
Not only are we able to offer a discounted rate, but a portion of the proceeds will also go to the GRGA to help us further our mission of empowering women in the outdoors
This AIARE level 1 is a 3-day introduction to managing avalanche hazard where you will learn a repeatable process to manage your risk and learn from your experiences in the backcountry. Students will also practice preparing for and carrying out a backcountry trip, keeping track of conditions, communicating, making decisions about hazards while in the backcountry, and learning rescue techniques if an avalanche occurs and someone is caught. Our Level 1 course will include 24 hours of course work at a minimum. We want to make sure that you get the education that you need and don’t cut corners in delivering the best product so that we can maximize your commitment!

Breck Ladies’ Uphill Meetup
Group Skin with an Apres Social Hour at Breckenridge Brewery
Meet at 5:30pm at the bottom of the Quicksilver Superchair on Peak 9 (behind The Maggie restaurant). Parking at the F Lot is free after 5pm! We'll aim to be moving uphill by 5:45. We'll skin for about an hour, ski down and then recollect at Breckenridge Brewery at about 7/7:15 for bites or drinks to get to know one another without all of the huffing and puffing.
If you aren't able to make the uphill, or perhaps you'd rather meet some people after rather than on the hill, please feel free to just join us for the apres social! We're a real friendly bunch.
All abilities and fitness levels welcome. We move in groups so no one is left behind and attendees can move at their own pace together. For us the goal of these meetups is to offer opportunities for women to get together, nourish current friendships or make new ones, and get outside. We just ask that you try to have a bit of an understanding on your gear as our ambassadors are not pros. We can help point you in the right direction before the event, and we can event help set you up with discounted demos at Cripple Creek Backcountry or demos at Colorado Adventure Guides.
Reminder: This is not a professionally guided event, we're just a bunch of ladies who love skiing/riding and socializing and are doing what we can to connect the community. Riding is at your own risk.
Bring headlamps, layers, and water. No uphill pass is required.
Eagle County Uphill Ski Meetup
5:30pm we’ll meet up, and start skinning by about 5:45. Apres Location TBD. If you know a restaurant that wants to host us after either in the village or ionshead let us know! amanda@gorerangegravityalliance.com
Basics are that we’ll meet at a designated location, skin up together for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, ski/ride down, and go grab snacks and drinks together after at about 7:30pm. If you can’t make the ski but would like to join us for the apres, please do! Whether you’re just not yet ready to ski with a big group, gear is in the shop, recovering from an injury, or just flat out not feeling for a ski but want some social time, we’re happy to have you!
Bring your head lamp, water, layers, and touring gear.
The Backcountry Ball
Mark your calendars and break out your finest threads! The Backcountry Ball is coming to Vail Golf Club on December 7th from 7 to 11 pm—and it’s going to be a night to remember! This isn't just a fundraiser for the Gore Range Gravity Alliance's amazing educational and social programming. It’s also a chance to trade in those trusty hiking boots for something a little snazzier and celebrate our local women’s fierce femininity, along with their amazing outdoor skills.
We’re inviting everyone (21+) to join in the glamorous fun, so grab your date, your pals, your whole crew, or come ready to make new friends. Whatever your plan is, just be ready to leave the flannel at home! DJ Red (a.k.a. Wendy Fisher, former Olympic ski racer straight from Crested Butte!) will be spinning the tunes that’ll keep us grooving all night. Of course we have the party fuel with heavy apps and free drinks. Capture the memories at our photo booth with Vail Photo Booths, and take home snapshots of this epic evening.
And what's a party without prizes? We’ll not only have a big giveaway, but also more opportunities to take home sweet gear and other goodies with a silent auction. Any businesses looking to support with donations please email amanda@gorerangegravityalliance.com.
Tickets are $60, and they sold out last year—so grab yours ASAP at onecau.se/_7ka2r1. Doors open at 7 pm!
The Gore Range Gravity Alliance, a three-year-old nonprofit in both Eagle and Summit Counties, is all about empowering women to thrive in the backcountry, with events covering everything from avalanche awareness to gear maintenance. Through community and mentorship, we’re helping women grow their skills, build friendships, and find adventure buddies for life.
